Elizabeth Taylor (1932-2011)

Always thought she'd live forever.  What an iconic figure with a "face that could launch a thousand ships".

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

อลิซในเรื่องที่ดัดแปลงนี้ (จาก Alice in Wonderland กับ Through the Looking Glass ของ Lewis Carroll) เขียนบทโดย Linda Woolverton จับบทตอนอลิซ โต ทำให้เนื้อหาน่าสนใจและคนดูที่เคยอ่านเรื่องคลาสสิคมาแล้วไม่ตั้งความคาด หวัง

Just finished watching this version of Alice in Wonderland -- and absolutely adored it!!  Johnny Depp is absolutely splendid as the Mad Hatter --  I like him in this role more than anything he has done with Burton since Edward Scissorhands (I disliked him as Willy Wonka and loved Gene Wilder in that role.)

The spicing up of "girl power" and "self-esteem boosting" makes the story more contemporary  -- especially the part which urges you to "imagine six impossible things before breakfast" and that if you think you've gone bonkers -- just know the secret that "all the best people are"...

The only way to achieve the impossible is to believe it is possible!!!

หนังดูสนุก มุขตลกขบขันน่ารักดี ไม่ได้เป็นชีวประวัิติของพี่น้องตระกูลกริมม์ แต่เอาเรื่องจินตนาการของการผจญภัยมาผูกเข้าเป็นเรื่องแฟนตาซี แม้จะไม่ขำกลิ้งแบบ Monty Python ก็ตาม แต่ Matt Damon (Will) กับ Heath Ledger (Jake) รวมทั้ง Peter Stormare (Cavaldi) และ Jonathan Pryce (General Delatombe) ก็ยังรับส่งมุขกันได้อย่างเฮฮา (ไม่นานมานี้เอา The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus - หนังเรื่องสุดท้ายที่ Heath Ledger แสดง มาดู แต่เบื่อๆ ไม่ค่อยสนุก)
