Since I first laid eye on the Redwood trees, I was awestruck. I could never wrap my brain around how this 300-foot, gigantic, living tree can survive upright for 1,500 years without taproots. I always marvel at the fact that these majestic trees grow from a tiny seed yet can live as long as 1,500 years.
Every time I look up and try to find the tree top, I always imagine the trees' thick bark as a giant notebook that keeps records of all the things that happen under the canopy throughout the years and if you put your ear next to it you might be able to hear those stories.
Sadly, instead of respecting and cherishing trees, people cut them down in a heartbeat.
So many times I had tried in vain to take pictures that can depict the trees awe-inspiring height. Now, National Geographic has done it. After a year of planning, here is the absolutely stunning results.
